Research Assistant – AI & Data Analytics in Healthcare

About the role

The Division of Information Technology and Operations Management at Nanyang Business School seeks a Research Assistant to support healthcare‑focused research projects. You will work closely with hospitals, clinics and institutional partners to prepare, clean and analyse multi‑source health data.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate on‑site research activities and facilitate data access in healthcare settings.
• Acquire, integrate and manage datasets such as electronic health records, system logs, surveys and administrative data.
• Perform data cleaning, preprocessing and quality assurance, ensuring datasets are anonymised and ready for analysis.
• Develop data analysis pipelines using Python and SQL for structured and unstructured data (text, medical images, voice records).
• Apply machine learning and natural language processing techniques to extract insights from healthcare data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics or a related quantitative field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience in data analytics or research support, preferably in healthcare or large‑scale data environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting processes and supporting research reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
