About the role
The Centre for Quantum Technologies at NTU is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the Laboratory of Gao Weibo. The role focuses on the design, development, and testing of optical and electronic instruments, with a particular emphasis on creating a Kerr microscope for quantum applications. The position offers the opportunity to work in a diverse, inclusive environment that values merit and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research activities related to product design and engineering for quantum instruments.
- Develop and prototype optical systems, including the Kerr microscope, for advanced quantum experiments.
- Design, assemble, and test electronic circuits and control hardware supporting the instruments.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and designers to integrate hardware and software components.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and technical specifications.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Art/Design, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest and motivation in multidisciplinary research and quantum technologies.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of optical instrumentation and microscopy principles.
- Experience with electronics design, prototyping, and testing.
