Research Assistant – Paediatrics

About the role

The National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Renal Immunology & Genetics (IMM‑RIG) division within the Department of Paediatrics. The role supports cutting‑edge clinical and laboratory research focused on genetic kidney diseases, contributing to diagnostics, therapies, and long‑term patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Process and analyse next‑generation sequencing (NGS) data, performing downstream statistical analyses.
• Develop and maintain analytical pipelines, especially for structural variant curation.
• Clean, consolidate, and manage large genomic datasets ensuring reproducible, version‑controlled workflows.
• Generate visual outputs, dashboards, and concise summaries for reports, manuscripts, and project updates.
• Conduct literature reviews to guide experimental design and benchmark analytical tools.
• Organise project meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and track action items.
• Support procurement of laboratory consumables and assist with safety and compliance reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline with strong academic results.
• Basic proficiency in data analysis tools and experience handling large‑scale cohort genomic data.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Clear communication skills for reporting to the Principal Investigator and research fellows.
