Research Assistant – Photopolymers

About the role
We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join the School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU, Singapore. The role focuses on developing innovative photopolymers and bio‑adhesive formulations within a collaborative laboratory environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, synthesize and characterize functional polyacrylate composites using novel photoinitiator chemistry.
- Manage project milestones, prepare technical reports, and contribute to journal publications.
- Coordinate with industrial partners and maintain laboratory equipment, including procurement and supplier liaison.
- Document research findings in high‑quality reports and presentations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Organic or Polymer Chemistry from an internationally accredited institution.
- At least one year of research experience in polymer science, materials science or adhesives, either in academia or industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and project‑management skills.
Required skills
- Photochemistry and photoinitiator expertise.
- Free‑radical polymerization and vat polymerization techniques.
- Polymer characterization methods: SEC, XPS, NMR, FTIR.
