Research Assistant – Quantum Computing Engineer

About the role

The Nanyang Quantum Solutions team at NTU Singapore is looking for a Research Assistant to develop quantum algorithmic solutions based on Riemannian geometry. You will work closely with Prof. Marek Gluza, contributing theoretical support for experimental quantum hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quantum compilation and optimise code for execution on quantum hardware such as Helios or Heron.
• Support quantum‑algorithm research by handling auxiliary data‑processing tasks.
• Analyse and evaluate new research directions and their feasibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or a related discipline.
• At least one year of research experience in quantum computing (e.g., final‑year project).
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet strict timelines and maintain meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of quantum computing fundamentals as presented in Nielsen & Chuang’s textbook.
