Research Assistant – Quantum Sensing Engineer

About the role

The Nanyang Quantum Solutions team at NTU Singapore is looking for a Research Assistant specialized in quantum sensing engineering. You will work closely with Prof. Marek Gluza to develop tabletop NV‑center readout setups and translate dynamic quantum algorithms into practical sensor protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Assess feasibility and cost of a tabletop NV‑center readout system using commercial lasers and microwave resonators.
• Design readout solutions and techniques for quantum sensors in material‑science fabrication pipelines.
• Convert dynamic quantum algorithms, such as double‑bracket algorithmic cooling, into actionable protocols for NV‑center ensembles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or a related field.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet strict timelines, and manage details meticulously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Ansys and related simulation packages.
