Research Assistant – Riemannian Optimization for Quantum Computing

About the role
The Nanyang Quantum Solutions team at NTU Singapore is looking for a Research Assistant to explore the application of Riemannian optimization techniques to quantum computing. You will work closely with Prof. Marek Gluza to develop and evaluate novel quantum algorithmic solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Apply analytical methods from Riemannian optimization to assess the performance of quantum algorithms, including double‑bracket flows.
- Design and propose new quantum algorithms and accompanying proof techniques.
- Collaborate with experimental teams to provide theoretical support for quantum middleware development.
- Document research findings and present results to the research group.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or a related discipline.
- At least one year of research experience on quantum algorithms or a related final‑year project.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under strict timelines with meticulous attention to detail.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Riemannian geometry.
- Knowledge of quantum computing concepts and algorithms.
