Research Assistant (Temp) - Teaching & Learning Centre

About the role

The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is recruiting a temporary Research Assistant for its Teaching & Learning Centre. The Research Assistant provides research support to the Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team, working on topics such as work-integrated learning, university-workplace learning and learning across boundaries. The employment runs from 20 October to 31 December 2026, approximately two months.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature searches and reviews on work-integrated learning, university-workplace learning, learning across boundaries and other relevant areas.
• Help clean, organise, format and prepare qualitative data for analysis.
• Support qualitative data analysis, including coding, categorisation and organisation of data under the guidance of the research team.
• Help identify, organise and summarise emerging patterns and themes from the qualitative data.
• Maintain organised research records, literature, references and project documentation.
• Carry out other research-related tasks assigned by the PI and research team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially when handling qualitative research data.
• Familiarity with qualitative research methods and qualitative data analysis.
• Ability to work independently, manage research tasks systematically and meet agreed timelines.

Required skills

• Ability to conduct literature searches using academic databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
• Experience with NVivo or other qualitative data analysis software is an advantage.
