Research Assistant/Associate – Greenhouse Management

About the role
The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to support an interdisciplinary AI‑driven urban farming project funded by the National Research Foundation Singapore. The role combines greenhouse operations, experimental logistics, and project management to optimise crop yield and traits.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate seedling procurement with industry partners and manage transplanting crews.
- Set up and calibrate crop experiments, including pot systems and dynamic irrigation/fertigation software.
- Monitor experiments, document progress, handle incident reports, and adjust systems according to weather conditions.
- Liaise with vendors to resolve operational and data issues.
- Oversee tank refilling, hardware support, and procurement of sensors, devices, and chemicals.
- Prepare progress reports and respond to funding agency information requests.
- Manage project budget, forecasts, expenditures, claims, and asset inventory.
- Consolidate periodic finance and technical reports for stakeholders.
Required profile
- Experience in greenhouse or agricultural experiment logistics.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and industry collaborators.
- Familiarity with project budgeting, procurement, and compliance reporting.
