Research Associate – AI & Data Analytics in Healthcare

About the role

The Division of Information Technology and Operations Management at Nanyang Business School seeks a Research Associate to support healthcare‑focused research projects. You will work closely with hospitals, clinics and institutional partners to prepare and analyse complex datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate on‑site research activities and facilitate data access in healthcare settings.
• Acquire, integrate and manage multi‑source datasets such as electronic health records, system logs, surveys and administrative data.
• Perform data cleaning, preprocessing and quality assurance, ensuring datasets are anonymised and ready for analysis.
• Develop data analysis pipelines using Python and SQL for structured and unstructured data (text, medical images, voice records).
• Apply advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing, to extract insights.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience in data analytics or research support, preferably in healthcare or large‑scale data environments.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to manage multi‑source datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
