Research Associate – AI, Medicine & Data Analytics

About the role

The Division of Information Technology and Operations Management at Nanyang Business School seeks a Research Associate to support healthcare‑focused research projects. You will work closely with hospitals, clinics and institutional partners to prepare, clean and analyse multi‑source health data.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate on‑site research and data preparation in healthcare settings, collaborating with hospitals, clinics and partners.
• Acquire, integrate and manage diverse datasets such as electronic health records, system logs, surveys and administrative data.
• Perform data cleaning, preprocessing and quality assurance, ensuring datasets are anonymised and ready for analysis.
• Develop and implement data analysis pipelines using Python and SQL for structured and unstructured data (text, images, voice).
• Apply advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing, to extract insights from healthcare data.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Biomedical Informatics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Relevant experience in data analytics or research support, preferably in healthcare, digital health or large‑scale data environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting analytical processes and supporting research reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary research teams.
