Research Associate (Biological Interfaces)

About the role

The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics & Science (IDMxS), a National Research Foundation-funded interdisciplinary research centre hosted by Nanyang Technological University, is looking for a Research Associate. The role advances research on lipid nanoparticle (LNP) carriers for delivering mRNA-related biomolecular cargo, working with senior researchers and collaborators to study the physical properties of custom-formulated LNPs containing synthetic dopants and their interaction with host cells.

Key responsibilities

• Use structural characterization techniques to understand the physical features of LNP-mRNA aggregates with improved transfection efficiency and protein expression.
• Run biophysical, biochemical and molecular biology experiments and analyse the data.
• Ensure effective communication among group members and accurate, systematic documentation of laboratory work.
• Draft scientific publications and present research findings internally and externally.
• Comply with laboratory safety standards and assist in lab management when needed.
• Guide junior team members.

Required profile

• Master's degree in life science, biochemistry, molecular cell biology or a related discipline.
• Experience in soft matter structural characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations, safety and management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to write research reports, publish and critically review publications.
