Research Associate – Simulation & Security for Drone Communications

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Research Associate to join Nanyang Technological University’s research team in Singapore. The role focuses on developing simulation environments, intelligent testing frameworks, and security evaluation tools for drone communication protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain simulation and testing environments for drone communication protocols.
• Design and implement intelligent frameworks for protocol fuzz testing and security evaluation.
• Create traffic analysis methods for anomaly detection, behavior classification, and attack inference.
• Conduct experiments to assess protocol robustness, security, and resilience under abnormal and adversarial conditions.
• Develop automated methods for validating identified vulnerabilities and evaluating potential attack scenarios.
• Analyze experimental results and contribute to improving frameworks and methodologies.
• Build LLM‑based agentic frameworks for generating intelligent and diverse fuzzing inputs.
• Prepare technical documentation, project reports, research publications, and presentations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in software development, cybersecurity, network protocols, AI or related research areas.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and technical documentation skills.
