Research Engineer I – AI & FinTech

About the role

The NTU‑WeBank Joint Research Centre on FinTech is seeking a motivated Research Engineer I to join its AI‑driven FinTech team in Singapore. You will work on cutting‑edge machine‑learning and large‑language‑model projects that enhance credit risk, fraud detection and intelligent decision‑making for Banking 4.0.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy credit‑risk and fraud‑prediction models using deep‑learning and NLP techniques.
• Build and optimise LLM‑powered solutions for risk management and behavioural analysis.
• Create Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows and intelligent agents for financial applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AI models into production systems.
• Conduct research on AI applications in FinTech and contribute to knowledge‑sharing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in AI, Computer Science, FinTech or a related discipline.
• Strong statistical background and experience with financial risk modelling.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver production‑ready AI models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
