Research Engineer I – Radar Systems

About the role
The Research Engineer I will support cutting‑edge radar sensing projects at NTU, focusing on remote sensing in complex environments. You will work on hardware architecture, system integration, and experimental platform development to enable advanced research.
Key responsibilities
- Configure radar waveforms, antenna arrays, and acquisition parameters for operations such as beamforming, target detection and tracking.
- Conduct system validation, calibration and performance characterization in laboratory and field settings.
- Build and maintain data‑acquisition pipelines and ensure high‑quality datasets for research.
- Support implementation and evaluation of radar signal‑processing and machine‑learning algorithms (e.g., range‑Doppler processing, clutter suppression, micro‑Doppler extraction).
- Document system configurations, experimental procedures and test results for internal reports and publications.
- Collaborate with researchers and students, providing technical assistance and contributing to platform improvements.
- Assist in project reporting, technical documentation and dissemination of research outcomes.
Required profile
- MSc, MEng or BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Background in RF systems, radar hardware, embedded systems or sensing technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with radar signal processing and RF test equipment.
Required skills
- Radar signal‑processing algorithms (range‑Doppler, beamforming, clutter suppression, micro‑Doppler extraction).
- RF test and measurement equipment.
- Configuration of radar front‑ends, antennas and waveform generation.
- Implementation of machine‑learning algorithms for radar data.
