About the role
The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to join the Seatrium New Energy Laboratory. The role focuses on safe operation of diverse engine fuels, design and execution of fuel and engine tests, and analysis of energy and emissions using numerical simulation.
Key responsibilities
- Update and maintain the laboratory’s fuel supply system.
- Operate and monitor engine fuels including diesel, biodiesel, LNG, hydrogen and ammonia.
- Design and conduct marine engine fuel tests and perform engine testing.
- Measure engine emissions and conduct species analysis.
- Model engine performance and emissions through numerical simulation.
- Support ongoing project operations within the laboratory.
- Collaborate with NTU, Seatrium Ltd and other industrial partners.
Required profile
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least three years of research experience in mechanical systems and fuel systems.
- Demonstrated record of publications in the field.
- Proficiency in English and strong communication skills for research collaboration.
Required skills
- Engineering design and experimental testing.
- Numerical simulation of engine performance and emissions.
- Use of thermofluid analysis software.
- Handling of multiple engine fuels (diesel, biodiesel, LNG, hydrogen, ammonia).
