Research Fellow – Geophysics & Geomechanics

About the role

The Centre for Urban Solutions at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Research Fellow to lead a marine geophysics and data‑analytics project. The role combines field survey development, machine‑learning algorithm design, and scientific publishing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on marine geophysics and related data analytics.
• Develop marine geophysical survey methodologies and machine‑learning algorithms.
• Process and analyse geophysical and geomechanical datasets using machine‑learning techniques.
• Supervise undergraduate students and contribute to project reports and scientific articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in geophysics or equivalent.
• PhD in geophysics, geomechanics or a related field from a recognised university.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• At least one year of research or work experience in geophysics (desirable).
• Experience in geophysical/geomechanical investigation and machine learning (desirable).
