Research Fellow – Mathematical AI

About the role

We are seeking three highly motivated Research Fellows to join Associate Professor Xia Kelin’s team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University. The role focuses on developing and applying Mathematical AI techniques to molecular sciences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Mathematical AI methods such as geometric/topological data analysis, categorical deep learning, sheaf neural networks, PINN/KAN models, and neural operators.
• Perform data preprocessing, algorithm/model design, scientific computing, and experimental validation.
• Prepare research papers, reports, and presentations to disseminate findings.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project progress.

Required profile

• PhD in mathematics, AI, or a related field.
• Strong background in geometric/topological/algebraic data analysis and deep learning, with knowledge of molecular sciences.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Previous research experience and a publication record are preferred.
