Research Fellow – Process Systems Engineering

About the role

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to join the MoSPSyDe (Ken Research Group). The role focuses on developing advanced pharmaceutical process models, particularly for crystallization and other key unit operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the pharmaceutical crystallization process‑modeling project.
• Develop novel models by integrating mechanistic approaches with machine‑learning techniques.
• Participate in group activities, mentor students, and foster collaborative research.
• Engage with external researchers and industry experts to enhance project outcomes.
• Publish findings in high‑impact academic journals.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in process modeling and familiarity with pharmaceutical processes.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Proficiency in programming (Python), differential equations, and machine‑learning methods.
• Competence in data analysis, research design, and independent as well as team‑oriented work.
