Research Fellow – Reinforcement Learning and LLM‑Agent Systems

About the role

The Nanyang Technological University College of Computing and Data Science seeks a Research Fellow to advance cutting‑edge research in reinforcement learning and large‑language‑model agent systems. The role involves independent research, publication, and mentorship of students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on reinforcement learning (RL) and LLM‑agent systems.
• Prepare and submit papers to conferences.
• Co‑supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
• Support teaching activities, including course preparation and student guidance.
• Assist in drafting research grant proposals and reporting project progress.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Independent, highly analytical, proactive and a strong team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to formulate hypotheses, design experiments and conduct innovative research.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of reinforcement learning.
• Experience with large‑language‑model (LLM) agent systems.
• Ability to design and implement new experimental methods.
