Research Fellow – Software Engineering & AI for Automotive Security

About the role

NTU is looking for a Research Fellow to advance cutting‑edge software engineering and cybersecurity research for automotive systems. The role focuses on the Desay SV Transfer Project, developing automated binary analysis, open‑source component detection, and emulation‑based fuzz testing for embedded MCU and SoC platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise scalable binary analysis and open‑source component detection frameworks.
• Build and enhance emulation‑based fuzz testing pipelines for embedded environments.
• Apply AI and large language model techniques to improve program understanding and vulnerability assessment.
• Integrate, benchmark, and deploy solutions, producing technical documentation.
• Collaborate with academic researchers and industry engineers to translate prototypes into deployable, high‑performance tools.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
• Strong research track record with publications in reputable international venues.
• Experience in software engineering, AI for code, or software security.
• Ability to work independently and as part of academia‑industry joint projects.
