Research Fellow – Stem Cell Differentiation for Cultivated Meat

About the role

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU seeks a Research Fellow to advance cultivated meat technologies through stem cell differentiation and tissue engineering. You will collaborate with NTU, SIT and IHPC (A*Star) to develop cell‑based muscle bundles for Singapore’s 30 by 30 protein ambition.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce muscle bundles using tissue‑engineering and mechanotransduction platforms.
• Operate and maintain bioreactors for dynamic culture of muscle and fat tissues.
• Support interdisciplinary research on the biological aspects of alternative protein technologies.
• Coordinate project progress across partner institutions.

Required profile

• PhD in cultivated meat, tissue engineering, stem cell biology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in cell culture, differentiation and mechanotransduction.
• Experience with bioreactor operation and equipment design for tissue‑engineering projects is highly valued.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi‑institutional research environment.
