Resident Architect

About the role

The Resident Architect will supervise all architectural works on site, ensuring that contractors meet contract, authority and client requirements. This role leads the architectural team, reviews drawings and specifications, and coordinates closely with quality and safety personnel to deliver projects on time and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supervision services for all architectural works and ensure contractor compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the architectural team and personnel, providing necessary endorsements and guidance.
• Review all drawings and specifications, flagging discrepancies, non‑workable or missing details to the Officer‑In‑Charge and qualified persons.
• Comment on construction method statements, risk assessments, work plans, Design for Safety workshops and SOP proposals.
• Assist in applications for TOP and CSC and prepare site supervision plans.
• Monitor project progress, prepare site progress reports and update the client.
• Ensure adherence to stakeholder regulations and supervise safety performance on site.
• Conduct roving safety inspections, emergency response, incident investigations and report accidents or near‑misses.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in major building construction, architectural and fit‑out works.
• Degree recognised by the Board of Architects (BOA).
• Strong knowledge of statutory codes, site supervision, quality control procedures and construction administration.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with Workplace Safety & Health Manual procedures.
