Resident Architect

About the role

The Resident Architect will lead the architectural supervision of construction projects, ensuring that all works comply with contractual, regulatory, and client requirements. This role involves close coordination with contractors, the architectural team, and safety officers to deliver high‑quality built environments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all architectural works and verify contractor compliance with contracts, authorities, and agency standards.
• Oversee the architectural team, providing endorsements and guidance.
• Review drawings and specifications, flagging discrepancies, non‑workable items, and missing details to the Officer‑in‑Charge (OIC) and qualified persons.
• Comment on construction method statements, risk assessments, work plans, Design for Safety workshops, and SOP proposals.
• Prepare and execute site supervision plans, monitor project progress, and produce status reports for the client.
• Ensure adherence to all stakeholder regulations and supervise proper site supervision practices.
• Monitor contractor safety performance, conduct roving safety inspections, and manage emergency and incident response.
• Report accidents, incidents, or near‑miss events promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in major building construction, architectural, and fit‑out projects.
• Degree recognised by the Board of Architects (BOA).
• Strong knowledge of statutory codes, quality‑control procedures, construction administration, and progress‑report submission.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with Workplace Safety & Health Manual procedures.
