Retail Design Manager – Travel Retail APAC

About the role

The Retail Design Manager will bring L’Oréal’s luxury brands to life across the Asia‑Pacific travel retail network. You will translate global brand guidelines into high‑impact, locally‑adapted retail spaces – from free‑standing stores to airport counters – that enhance the consumer experience and drive commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt global brand design standards to the physical, commercial and regulatory constraints of airports, duty‑free malls and border shops.
• Develop space‑planning concepts, 2D/3D layouts and zoning that optimise shopper flow and maximise sales productivity.
• Integrate digital and interactive technologies (e.g., virtual try‑ons, QR codes) to create seamless omni‑channel experiences.
• Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, from brief and design approval through technical drawing review, tendering, supplier selection and on‑site installation.
• Manage CAPEX budgets, timelines and quality control to ensure openings align with commercial launch dates.
• Negotiate design proposals with airport authorities and duty‑free operators, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison between regional teams and the Global Brand Design team in Paris.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or commercial interior design, preferably within travel retail or luxury environments.
• Strong project‑management capabilities with a track record of delivering complex design projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills, able to work with operators, suppliers and internal commercial teams.
• Creative mindset combined with rigorous technical attention to detail.
