Safety Coordinator – Workplace Safety & HSE

About the role

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to support the Safety Manager in implementing and overseeing our workplace safety, health and environmental (HSE) systems across project sites in Singapore. The role involves monitoring compliance, conducting risk assessments and ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Safety Manager in managing the safety team and subcontractors to implement company safety systems at project sites.
• Monitor workplace safety, health and environmental conditions and enforce safe work practices.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop Safe Work Procedures and maintain HSE documentation.
• Perform duties as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and related regulations.
• Carry out daily site inspections, incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with MOM, NEA, PUB and other authorities on safety and environmental matters.
• Prepare and submit HSE reports, safety statistics and statutory documentation.
• Organise monthly WSH Committee meetings, internal HSE training and awareness campaigns.
• Lead and manage the site safety team to promote a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or certification in occupational safety, health or environmental management.
• Experience in a safety coordination or HSE officer role, preferably in construction or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore’s MOM, NEA and PUB regulations.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safe work procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of Singapore safety and environmental regulations (MOM, NEA, PUB).
