Sales Representative - Food Retail

About the role

Join Ecolab’s Institutional sales team as an outside sales representative focused on the foodservice and hospitality market. You will be the face of Ecolab, delivering advanced cleaning and sanitation solutions to restaurants, hotels, schools, and care facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Grow sales within an existing territory of food‑service and hospitality accounts.
• Cold‑call and prospect new customers to expand Ecolab’s market presence.
• Learn customers’ warewashing systems and design tailored cleaning solutions.
• Install, repair and maintain ware‑washing, laundry and dispensing equipment.
• Provide training, regular and emergency service, and sales demonstrations.
• Demonstrate safe equipment use and ensure customer teams are properly trained.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree.
• At least 1 year of outside sales experience.
• Willingness to be on call during off‑hours and occasional weekends.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to complete pre‑employment assessments.
• Industry experience in food service, laundry, hospitality, or pool & spa.
• Mechanical problem‑solving experience (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC).

Required skills

• Mechanical aptitude for equipment installation and repair.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Understanding of warewashing system operation.
• Ability to perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
