Secondary School Physical & Health Education Teacher

About the role

The Subject Teacher for Physical and Health Education (Secondary) will deliver high‑quality physical and health education to learners across the MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP curricula. The role focuses on fostering students' physical, emotional, and social development while promoting lifelong health and wellness.

Key responsibilities

• Build learning‑focused relationships and empower children to become independent learners.
• Use clear learning objectives and appropriate assessment tools for formative and summative evaluation.
• Provide high‑quality scaffolding, feedback, and support for learners to reflect on and set personal learning goals.
• Engage parents through learner‑led conferences and regular teacher‑parent dialogue.
• Integrate IT to enhance learning and support authentic, real‑world problem solving.
• Collaborate positively within and across teams, meet Nexus Teacher Professional Standards, and participate in whole‑school events.
• Serve as a form tutor, helping assigned learners set and achieve personal goals.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification and a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physical Education, Health Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Evidence of continued professional development and experience working with bilingual, multilingual, and diverse‑needs learners.
• At least two years of relevant experience in an international school environment delivering IBMYP, IGCSE, or IBDP curricula (preferred).
• Basketball specialism and ability to teach IBDP SEHS are advantageous.
• Availability to start in January 2027 and commitment to safeguarding policies.
