Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s AI Foundations team is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, development and productionisation of scalable AI/ML systems. In this individual‑contributor role you will work closely with data scientists, product owners and platform engineers to deliver end‑to‑end AI capabilities that meet complex business requirements while ensuring reliability and responsible AI.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable AI/ML solutions, including data ingestion, preprocessing and feature engineering pipelines for both structured and multimodal data.
• Productionise models and AI services by creating training pipelines, deployment frameworks and robust feature/vector stores.
• Implement hyper‑parameter tuning, validation and performance monitoring to meet target metrics.
• Automate end‑to‑end AI delivery using CI/CD and MLOps best practices.
• Deploy models to production with comprehensive monitoring, logging, tracing and dashboards to ensure observability.
• Detect data and concept drift, track performance decay and trigger remediation actions such as retraining or rollback.
• Maintain model version registries and manage the full lifecycle of AI assets.
