Senior Application Engineer - Card Access & CCTV

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring a Senior Application Engineer for its security solutions business, covering card access and CCTV. The engineer handles engineering, configuration, integration, testing and technical implementation of security systems from design through commissioning, working with project managers, technical managers, construction teams, commissioning engineers, clients and third-party vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical documentation such as shop drawings, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals and programming matrices.
• Develop and review system architecture, security designs, device schedules and technical specifications, and ensure material orders match project requirements.
• Help define project scope and specifications, and monitor progress with customers and stakeholders to support expedited installation.
• Inspect, set up, test and commission Access Control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, intercoms/public address and electronic lock and key systems.
• Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning and troubleshooting, and resolve configuration, software and integration issues.
• Promote health and safety policies, maintain customer relations, provide on-site support when needed and travel domestically and internationally.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer & Science, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience installing, configuring or servicing Lenel OnGuard, CCURE 9000, AMAG, BVMS, Interlogix, PIDS, DSC, Kantech or HID.
• Experience with enterprise security platforms such as Software House, LenelS2, Gallagher, Genetec, Milestone, Senstar and Traka.
• Experience in civil and electrical construction works.
• One or more certifications in Lenel OnGuard, CCURE 9000, AMAG or BVMS.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and networking knowledge (MS Windows, Linux, Office, LAN, fiber optic).
• AutoCAD or Revu BlueBeam.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate with vendors.
