Senior Application Engineer - Electronic Security Systems

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring a Senior Application Engineer for its electronic security systems business. The engineer handles the engineering, configuration, integration, testing and technical implementation of security solutions from design through commissioning, working with project managers, technical managers, construction teams, commissioning engineers, clients and third-party vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical documentation such as shop drawings, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals and programming matrices.
• Develop and review system architecture, security designs, device schedules and technical specifications, and ensure specifications and material orders match project requirements.
• Help define project scope and specifications, and monitor progress with customers and stakeholders to support expedited installation.
• Perform inspection, setup, testing and commissioning of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Alarm, Intercoms/Public Address and Electronic Lock and key systems.
• Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning and troubleshooting, and resolve configuration, software, integration and technical query issues.
• Promote health and safety policies, carry out customer relations and provide on-site placement when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer & Science, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience installing, configuring or servicing Lenel OnGuard, CCURE 9000, AMAG, BVMS, Interlogix, PIDS, DSC, Kantech or HID.
• Experience with enterprise security platforms such as Software House, LenelS2, Gallagher, Genetec, Milestone, Senstar and Traka.
• One or more certifications in Lenel OnGuard, CCURE 9000, AMAG or BVMS.
• Experience in civil and electrical construction works.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• English proficiency in reading, writing and conversation.
• Computer literacy and networking knowledge (MS Windows, Linux, Office, LAN, Fiber Optic).
• AutoCAD or Revu BlueBeam.
• Ability to communicate with vendors and make decisions using industry-standard knowledge.
