Senior Assistant Manager, Data and Analytics

About the role

The Office of Data and Analytics (ODA) at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Senior Assistant Manager, Data and Analytics. The role supports the University's strategic decision-making through rigorous data analysis, statistical modelling and evidence-based insights, contributing to institutional planning, university rankings and reputation, faculty and student outcomes, research analytics and continuous improvement of data processes.

Key responsibilities

• Generate insights from external and internal data to support evidence-based decision-making at all levels of the University.
• Build databases, develop data analytics and implement strategies to optimise statistical efficiency.
• Refine existing processes and define new ones for data collection to support decision-making.
• Work in teams of stakeholders across various units.

Required profile

• PhD in Social Sciences, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of applied statistics, empirical research methods and quantitative analysis.
• Experience handling, cleaning, validating and analysing complex datasets.
• Ability to develop analytical models and communicate complex findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Resourceful, resilient and collaborative, with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Good coding skills; familiarity with Python and R is advantageous.
• Data visualisation skills are an added advantage.
