Senior Associate, Consumer Fraud Risk Operations

About the role

Airwallex, an AI-native financial operating system used by hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide, is hiring a Senior Associate for its Consumer Fraud Risk Operations team in Singapore. The role works independently on real-time risk engine optimization initiatives to improve merchant transaction success rates and lower merchant risk levels globally, while collaborating with colleagues to support risk performance.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize risk engine rules based on merchant fraud and dispute patterns and commercial feedback.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to monitor merchant risk and payment performance and improve rule efficiency and accuracy.
• Support merchants during new product launches or sales events with risk support.
• Work with merchants on fraud or chargeback solutions and guide them toward risk performance improvement plans.
• Suggest improvements to real-time risk control products, policies and processes.
• Present real-time risk solutions to internal and external partners to strengthen Airwallex's risk brand.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in fraud risk, with experience in the payment industry.
• Strong project management skills for improving rules, models and products.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to explain key risk indicators to colleagues outside risk.

Required skills

• SQL is a must; Python is preferred.
• Deep understanding of payment real-time risk controls and ability to identify risks and remediation actions.
• Problem-solving, including recognizing non-obvious patterns.
