Senior Backend Engineer – Trading Desk

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join and support our Trading Desk Team at Coinhako. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance tooling that powers our internal trading team, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and optimise transaction workflows, reliability, scalability and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and internal tools that support Coinhako’s Trading Desk operations.
• Integrate with exchanges, liquidity providers, trading venues, and internal systems using REST APIs, WebSocket, and FIX where applicable.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, latency, and observability of internal trading systems.
• Automate manual trading operations and reduce operational risk through better tooling and system design.
• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle such as development, code review, testing, and debugging.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑6 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer designing and building trading systems.
• Strong background in Python or Go; knowledge of C++ is an advantage.
• Experience with REST APIs, WebSocket, and FIX connectivity.
• Familiarity with the trade lifecycle, financial products, trading venues, risk controls, and execution workflows.
• Experience building trading infrastructure such as order management, execution, market data, risk, reconciliation, or post‑trade workflows.
• Exposure to low‑latency, high‑throughput, or high‑frequency trading systems is a strong advantage.
• Experience with cloud and infrastructure tooling such as AWS, Docker, and Terraform.
• Experience building systems using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and demonstrating a collaborative attitude.
• Experience working in cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, or financial firms.
