Senior Business Developer - Industrial Gas Projects

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Senior Business Developer for its Engineering Project and Solutions Division (EPSD). Based in Woodlands, the role drives growth by identifying new prospects, managing key accounts and delivering technical solutions. You will manage customer relationships, give expert advisory and work with internal teams to oversee budgets and ensure profitable project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead prospecting to find new opportunities (30%) and grow business with existing customers (70%) across Singapore.
• Define account-specific strategies and market plans to promote selected AL solutions and drive long-term growth.
• Serve as the main technical point of contact for complex customer inquiries.
• Coordinate internally to prepare competitive technical and economic proposals.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design technical and commercial offers.
• Support risk assessments, clarify project scopes and give technical inputs for safe, reliable solutions.
• Lead commercial negotiations to secure profitable agreements.
• Work with the Business Development Head on strategy, resource allocation and tendering budgets.
• Oversee project budgets and profitability, and work with onsite operations and project teams to anticipate customer expectations and analyse competitors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering; Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemistry engineering preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial activities such as operations, maintenance, project management, procurement or construction management.
• Proven background in proposal engineering or technical project management.
• Ability to build detailed cost estimates, manage tendering budgets and interpret complex contract terms.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with decision-makers and travel across Singapore as required.
