Senior Category Supplier Manager II - Tool Install

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Category Supplier Manager for its Tool Install category. The role sits at the heart of the company's procurement strategy, working with experienced colleagues to define innovative solutions that meet ambitious goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes to monitor supplier satisfaction and recommend value-maximising targets such as revenue growth and spend reduction.
• Assist in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting by developing category strategies for managed categories.
• Identify and evaluate category-specific savings and revenue levers, driving category savings and scorecard targets.
• Share market insights and price trends internally, using should-cost models for benchmarked categories.
• Lead or take part in contract extension and renewal negotiations, price renegotiations and transfers, and lead sourcing events and RFQ processes into bundled negotiations.
• Develop supplier contract strategies covering cost savings, negotiation, sourcing and supplier evaluation.
• Work with key customers to deliver strategic solutions through strong relationship management, and drive a customer-centric approach to issue resolution and procurement representation.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of experience in the Construction / Tool Install category.
• A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
• Effective communication, negotiation and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Advanced understanding of material cost structures and analysis.
• Preferred: a decade of experience in the Construction / Tool Install category.
• Preferred: prior indirect category management experience at a semiconductor company.
• Preferred: experience with Ariba, SAP and SCOUT.
