Senior Communications Officer – Lead Coal-to-Clean Transition

About the role

The Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to lead its communications agenda in Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, you will shape public debate on the coal‑to‑clean transition, develop strategic messaging, and support the broader communications team while reporting to the Communications Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive communication strategies that highlight PPCA’s value proposition across Southeast Asian markets.
• Craft compelling narratives and messaging that address local priorities, concerns, and opportunities related to clean energy transitions.
• Monitor political and media developments to identify strategic communication opportunities.
• Produce and manage content for press releases, policy briefs, social media, and stakeholder communications.
• Engage with governments, NGOs, media outlets, and PPCA co‑chairs to amplify impact.
• Provide regular reporting on communication activities and outcomes.

Required profile

• Senior‑level communications professional with proven experience in climate, energy or environmental sectors.
• Deep understanding of Southeast Asian political and media landscapes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including governments and international partners.
• Based in Singapore or willing to relocate.
