Senior Construction Mechanical Engineer - Semiconductor Fab

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Construction Mechanical Engineer for its Fab 10 facility. The role leads and manages building mechanical construction to meet safety, cost, schedule, quality and sustainability objectives, covering mechanical systems that serve semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments. It includes cost and budget planning, monitoring and control of cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, chilled water, fire protection, CDA, PCW and other dry and wet mechanical utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Technical leadership: review and approve mechanical design packages, specifications and technical submissions, and ensure compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical and Cleanroom standards.
• Coordinate with Electrical, I&C, Process, CSA and tool-hookup teams, resolve site engineering issues and chair cleanroom readiness meetings.
• Lead discussions on mechanical RFIs, deviations and field changes, evaluate their impact and support change approvals.
• Lead mechanical readiness for cleanroom blowdown and pressurization, temperature, humidity, pressure and airflow compliance, and RFE and RFM milestones; approve commissioning plans and test results.
• Approve as-built drawings, O&M manuals and turnover packages, support the transition to operations and reliability teams, and capture lessons learned.
• Lead safety reviews and hazard assessments, ensuring exhaust, gas room ventilation and hazardous systems meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements.

Required profile

• 8-12+ years of mechanical engineering experience in facilities within the semiconductor, fab, cleanroom or high-tech industrial environment.
• Proven experience leading cleanroom HVAC, exhaust and utility systems through commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of contamination control principles.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and structured problem-solving skills.
