Senior Controls Engineer – Amusement Ride Systems

About the role

Resorts World Sentosa is seeking a Senior Engineer specialized in Controls Engineering to ensure the reliability, safety and performance of amusement rides and show equipment at Universal Studios Singapore. The role involves troubleshooting, preventive and predictive maintenance, and engineering validation within a shift‑based, on‑site environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering validation, reliability‑centered maintenance analysis and configuration control for all rides and show equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and drive reliability improvements through diagnostics, software revisions, technician training and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Participate in major ride enhancement projects while ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards.
• Research, develop and implement predictive‑maintenance technologies to boost operational reliability.
• Manage engineering change processes and review service bulletins.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Ability to work at heights, perform shift work including weekends and public holidays, and collaborate with diverse technical teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 500 and Siemens S7 PLCs.
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, electrical schematic diagrams and change‑control processes.
• Logical troubleshooting approach and capability to conduct complex system tests.
