Senior Data Services & AI Engineer

About the role

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is looking for a Senior Data Services & AI Engineer to join its Data Services team. The role suits someone who enjoys hands-on development on real-world data and Generative AI (GenAI) platforms and learns under the guidance of senior technical leaders. You will help design, build and support data pipelines, analytics platforms and AI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, configure and maintain data pipelines, data platforms and AI components based on approved architectures and standards.
• Implement analytics and Generative AI solutions following established patterns, security and governance requirements.
• Contribute to project delivery across design, build, testing, deployment and operational handover.
• Support production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Apply data governance, security and privacy controls as defined in solution designs and policies.
• Work with data analysts, data scientists, engineers and business users to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
• Develop technical skills and suggest improvements to platforms and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, AI/ML or GenAI solution delivery.
• Experience building, deploying or supporting production data or AI solutions.
• Experience working in project teams under senior technical guidance.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support production systems.
• Strong execution mindset, collaborative and accountable, with clear communication.

Required skills

• Data and AI engineering, including AI-assisted development, RAG, prompt engineering, data pipelines, data integration and data modelling with tools such as Denodo and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Working understanding of data governance, security and privacy principles.
