Senior Engineer - Construction Chemical Systems

About the role

Micron Singapore is looking for a highly skilled Chemical Senior Engineer / Staff Engineer – Construction to design, specify, install, commission and optimise high-purity chemical and gas delivery systems in semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The role ensures safe handling, efficient distribution and compliance with codes and safety regulations, working with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Design chemical and slurry delivery systems, including storage, distribution piping, process integration and effluent scrubbers, meeting purity and safety requirements.
• Produce engineering drawings, P&IDs and specifications, and perform flow, pressure and compatibility calculations.
• Specify components so designs meet codes such as NFPA, FM, UBC, UFC, UMC, IBC, IMC, IFC, NEC, SEMI and OSHA.
• Support construction by reviewing submittals and shop drawings, inspecting installations and coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop safety protocols, run risk assessments and take part in FMEA and HAZOP reviews.
• Oversee testing and commissioning, including pressure tests, leak checks and calibration, and prepare commissioning reports, as-built drawings and operation manuals.
• Coordinate vendors, review SDS and warranties, and conduct vendor audits.
• Train operations and maintenance staff and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures and emergency response plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years designing chemical and gas systems in semiconductor or high-tech industries.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards.
• Preferred: proficiency in CAD and process simulation tools such as Aspen.
• Preferred: experience with AI-enabled tools, data analytics platforms or digital engineering solutions.

Work is office-based and on construction sites, with occasional travel for FAT and vendor qualification.
