Senior Engineer, NAND Process Integration

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Engineer, NAND Process Integration (PI) for its Fab 10N/X site. The role leads cross-functional teams to close technology gaps, improve process flows and support the transfer of new NAND technology from R&D to manufacturing, including the ramp-up and qualification of new nodes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and quantify key module deficiencies and technology gaps, and lead cross-functional teams to address them
• Improve current process flows and develop solutions that meet product requirements and manufacturability
• Develop or redefine CSPEC criteria for optimal product performance and drive activities to ensure manufacturing process capability
• Coordinate site activities to secure funding for experiments and conversions, and communicate decisions to R&D, Product Engineering and Manufacturing partners
• Run development projects evaluating new integration schemes for alpha and derivative parts, and establish proof of concept for future tech nodes
• Support the transfer of new technology from R&D to manufacturing, including documentation and training of module fundamentals
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in Process Integration and Yield Enhancement
• Strong holistic understanding of PI modules on new NAND technologies and their structural and electrical fail mechanisms
• Ability to travel extensively to the US for collaborative R&D work
• Self-motivated, able to work in a demanding and dynamic environment

Required skills

• Desirable: in-depth knowledge of non-volatile memories (NAND), the NAND process flow, process-device interactions and common yield and reliability issues
• Desirable: exposure to R&D and transfer/manufacturing
• Desirable: scripting, programming, engineering, business intelligence or analytics software such as Python, SolidWorks, Tableau, Power BI
