Senior Engineer, NTI Yield Analysis

About the role

Micron is hiring a Yield Analysis Engineer for its NAND Technology department in Singapore. The role provides key feedback and direction on yield improvement activities for NAND memory technology, working closely with process, integration, failure analysis, product engineering, design and layout teams. It involves collaboration across virtually all company functions, up to the executive level.

Key responsibilities

• Discover yield issues in NAND development and define unique metrics or combinations of metrics (e.g., wafer/dice/tile shading, ECATS or custom metrics) to quantify them.
• Drive clear definitions of yield, cell, CMOS, quality and reliability issues and define Pareto-based improvement actions across technology nodes and designs.
• Lead deep-dive statistical analysis of inline, probe, cell and other critical metrics, quantify progress and track yield improvement or downside from process and probe changes.
• Initiate data mining and correlation studies, PFA requests and inline correlation studies, and make yield projections.
• Analyze yield trends to find root causes in process steps, conversion, algorithm changes and design.
• Work with metrology and R&D to improve inline detection, and with product, probe and param engineering to define parametric/probe bins for new fail modes.
• Collaborate with module owners to quantify technology gaps and optimize layouts for manufacturability.
• Extract data from databases with query languages and automate work through scripting.
• Support the transfer of layout and architecture knowledge from R&D to the manufacturing fab, and integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Materials Science.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in failure analysis, yield analysis or yield enhancement.
• Deep understanding of probe failure mechanisms; ability to collect electrical bench data is desirable.

Required skills

• Fluency in Python, JavaScript, C or C++.
