Senior Engineer, PD, CVD/Diffusion

About the role

Micron's Singapore Process Development (PD) group in Technology Development is looking for a Senior Engineer in Plasma-CVD/Diffusion to support the development of advanced technology nodes. The engineer builds and optimizes Plasma-CVD or Diffusion processes for Micron's NAND Flash products, working from idea through process development and implementation in manufacturing facilities. The role may involve business-related travel and frequent weekend support of the R&D Pilot Line.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver process packages that meet product specifications within program targets and timelines.
• Characterize processes using SEM, TEM, XPS, SIMS, AFM and similar techniques, design experiments, analyse data and present results.
• Improve process maturity and capability in the fab, update Fab engineers on customer issues and technology needs, and support root cause defect and unique fail mode analysis.
• Develop recipes meeting structural and electrical requirements and manage wafers through thin film levels for special requirements.
• Work in multi-functional teams on Array and CMOS structures, and support failure analysis and yield improvement.
• Serve as a resource for peers in recipe and process development.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or a closely related field; or Bachelor/Master degree in a related field with more than 5 years of relevant CVD/Diffusion experience.
• Plasma physics background and understanding of plasma sources used in plasma CVD, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of CVD and diffusion deposition principles, solid-state devices, transport phenomena, electromagnetics, atomic/molecular physics and surface phenomena.
• Rudimentary understanding of process control and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Willingness to work off shift and weekends if necessary.

Required skills

• Solid troubleshooting, experimental build and data analysis skills.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
• Advanced data analysis techniques and scripting.
