Senior Engineer, Photolithography Process Development

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Engineer to support photolithography process development for advanced memory technologies. The role involves hands-on experimentation, data analysis and yield improvement, operating under the guidance of senior technical leaders. It calls for strong fundamentals in photolithography, analytical rigor and the ability to turn experimental data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Execute photolithography process development, optimization and troubleshooting to meet yield, quality and performance targets
• Run DOE, SPC and statistical analyses to characterise process behaviour and find improvement opportunities
• Support material evaluations, defect learning, overlay analysis and process window characterisation
• Help with integration learning during development and early manufacturing ramps
• Work with cross-functional teams such as integration, etch, metrology and yield engineering
• Document procedures, results and learnings in technical reports and presentations
• Support technology transfer under the direction of senior engineers
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality or effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements

Required profile

• PhD, or Master's degree with at least 3 years, or Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field
• Foundational experience in semiconductor photolithography process development
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, clear technical communication and project management skills

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of optics, immersion lithography, polarized illumination and low k1 imaging
• Lithography simulation tools, material characterisation, DOE, SPC and basic statistical data analysis
• Preferred: exposure to 193nm, 248nm, 365nm and EUV processes, and hands-on experience with photolithography equipment and metrology tools
