Senior Executive Officer, Quality Engineering

About the role

Singapore Pools, a not-for-profit organisation established in 1968 to provide safe and trusted betting, is hiring a Quality Engineer. The role covers end-to-end testing within a designated domain, including clarifying requirements and user stories, designing and executing tests, managing defects and producing test reports. It ensures QA and test automation practices meet Quality Engineering standards and strengthens release confidence through testing frameworks, QA governance and quality metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the domain test strategy, approach and coverage (manual and automation) in line with Quality Engineering standards.
• Drive shift-left testing by taking part early in refinement and design discussions, identifying test scenarios, risks and dependencies.
• Track and report quality status using agreed metrics (test progress, defect trends, coverage) and escalate risks to the Section Head and delivery teams.
• Define and maintain domain test plans, test approach and execution schedules, and design and maintain test cases traceable to requirements and user stories.
• Execute and coordinate functional, regression and non-functional tests, including CI/CD-integrated testing.
• Recommend reusable test assets and collaborate with automation engineers on automation candidates.
• Coordinate test data and environment readiness with delivery and platform teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science or an IT-related discipline.
• At least 5 years of hands-on software testing experience in customer-centric technology delivery and maintenance, with strong grounding in QA methodologies and defect management.
• At least 5 years in a mid-to-large enterprise with structured SDLC, governance and release management.
• Experience promoting standardised testing practices and test automation, and working with stakeholders across business and technology teams, including external vendors.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and coaching skills, and analytical and systems thinking.

Required skills

• Quality assurance, test design and defect management in Agile and waterfall teams.
• Test tools and practices such as test management, defect tracking, test automation collaboration and CI/CD-integrated testing.
