Senior Facade Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Façade Designer to independently manage façade design and detailing works, coordinate with consultants and project teams, and provide technical solutions throughout project execution. The role ensures design accuracy, buildability, compliance with specifications, and timely delivery of design submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation of design drawings for curtain walls, window walls, cladding, skylights, canopies and louvres.
• Develop, review and finalise detailed shop drawings, construction sections, fabrication and as‑built drawings for approval.
• Perform preliminary design calculations, including wind load assessments, glass thickness selection, mullion sizing and bracket design.
• Utilise AutoCAD to coordinate façade interfaces with M&E, structural and architectural trades.
• Conduct site visits to verify installation compliance, resolve RFIs and lead quality inspections.
• Coordinate façade performance testing (water tightness, air infiltration, acoustic) and oversee mock‑up preparation.
• Prepare material take‑offs, quantity schedules and technical information for tender quotations.
• Develop value‑engineering proposals to improve buildability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Manage design changes, Change Orders and Variation Orders, ensuring proper documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers and review their drawings.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of façade design experience, preferably in Singapore.
• Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and detailed façade shop‑drawing preparation.
• Proven knowledge of curtain‑wall systems, aluminium cladding and glass façade systems.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, clients and Professional Engineers.
• Good understanding of Singapore BCA, SCDF and WSH requirements.
