Senior Forward Deployment Strategist

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Senior Forward Deployment Strategist (FDS) in Singapore. As the bridge between a customer's multi-million dollar business problem and Databricks' technical solution, you own the entire non-technical lifecycle of a field engagement, partnering with Account Executives to build C-suite trust, map the customer's political and technical landscape and scope the value. You report to the Director, Forward Deployed Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to perform deep discovery, map the customer's organization and quantify the business value ($10M+ problems), then define the pilot (MVP, success criteria, timeline)
• Act as the CEO of the project: author the PRD, prioritize the engineering backlog, manage scope and act as the primary hands-on QA tester
• Drive the FDE build team through an agile process, manage stakeholder communications from C-suite to engineers and escalate technical or political blockers
• Own the Day 0 launch, run the war room and drive the solution from launch to full adoption by capturing user feedback and proving the defined business value
• Scope the ongoing maintenance plan, create customer documentation and training, and use your trusted advisor status to find the next high-value engagement

Required profile

• Trusted Advisor with C-suite gravitas and strong communication skills, able to build rapport and drive decisions quickly
• Product and systems thinker who can run a SWOT analysis, understand the competitive landscape and define what to build and why
• Execution-driven, hands-on, expert at escalation and willing to do the unglamorous work
• Ideal experience: 2+ years as a Deployment Strategist, or 2+ years at a high-growth startup as a builder or founder; alternatively 5+ years in a senior, client-facing product or delivery role at a top-tier tech company or consultancy
