Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Senior Internal Auditor. The role involves executing audit programs, conducting fieldwork in line with IIA standards, and mentoring junior auditors. It is full-time, with travel of about 10% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit programs within project timelines, working independently with limited supervision and periodic review
• Take part in audit planning for operational audits and advisory projects such as regional audits, process reviews and supplier audits, and conduct process interviews and walkthroughs
• Support junior auditors during planning and issue resolution
• Conduct fieldwork according to IIA standards, use the project RACI framework, ensure work papers are complete and maintain quality and re-performance standards
• Identify control gaps, risks and improvement opportunities, draft findings and reports, and present them to stakeholders, project teams and the CAE
• Help develop audit methodologies and templates, and recommend scope adjustments
• Maintain work papers and project records in Optro, track management action plans and follow-up actions, and monitor remediation progress until findings are closed
• Lead small-scale operational audits or advisory projects and support ad hoc work such as SOX testing, IT projects or investigations

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years of proven experience in internal audit or compliance in complex, global environments, including operational and advisory audits on high-risk, high-complexity engagements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Preferred: CIA, CPA, CTPRP, CISA or progress toward certification; experience with SAP ERP, data analytics tools and technology-enabled audit techniques; experience in global, matrixed organisations; multilingual ability is a plus
