Senior IT Consultant – Cloud Engineering

About the role

The Senior IT Consultant (Cloud Engineering) will design, build and operate the university’s cloud platforms on AWS and Microsoft Azure, ensuring secure, reliable and cost‑effective delivery of applications, integrations and AI services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS and Azure, including multi‑account environments, landing zones, networking, container and serverless platforms.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or ARM templates and automate operational tasks with Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Create and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions, embedding security scanning, policy‑as‑code and OIDC federation.
• Manage API platforms (Amazon API Gateway, Azure API Management) and enable AI gateway services for model endpoints.
• Collaborate with IT Security to enforce encryption, key management, secret handling and compliance with PDPA and industry standards.
• Own production reliability, monitoring, incident response, backup, disaster recovery and FinOps cost‑allocation practices.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience designing and operating cloud platforms on AWS and Azure.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code, automation and DevSecOps practices.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into secure, repeatable cloud solutions.

• Security scanning tools (Checkov, Trivy, Sentinel, OPA)
• API management (Amazon API Gateway, Azure API Management)
• AI platform services (Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry/OpenAI)
